Shaw has a large distribution fleet which it uses to ship flooring to its many dealers and retailers. The company is currently privately held and is owned by Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway. THe company is know for its carpeting, but it also makes area rugs, laminate, ceramic, and hardwood floors.
Shaw was founded in 1946 as Star Dye Company. It was small and its main business was to dye carpeting and rugs. The company expanded and in 1967, the company acquired Philidelphia Carpet Company which was founded in 1846. This event and the growth in the carpet industry led to phenomenal grow for Shaw. The company made additional acquisitions in an effort to be the industry's low cost provider. These decisions have paid off as Shaw has grown many times over.

The company offers loop, patter, twist, and texture type carpets in many styles, colors, and for many different uses.
